Raj Bhavan renamed Lok Bhavan Agartala, 30 November 2025:
The Government of Tripura has announced a significant administrative change. From 1 December 2025, Raj Bhavan will officially be known as Lok Bhavan. The Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, Shri Indrasena Reddy Nallu, directed this change after completing communication with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Information & Cultural Affairs Department issued Notification No. S-4062 on Saturday. Raj Bhavan also shared the same information and confirmed that all references will start using the new name from tomorrow.
🔎 Why the Change?
According to officials, the new name “Lok Bhavan” highlights a people-centric approach in governance. Moreover, the state administration believes that the name better reflects public connection with the highest constitutional office in the state.
