Sudhangshu Das Belonia Meeting: Review of ARDD, Fisheries & SC Welfare Schemes
The Hon’ble Minister Sudhangshu Das presided over a District Level Review Meeting at Circuit House, Belonia to review the progress of ARDD, Fisheries, and SC Welfare schemes. The meeting was attended by senior district officials and departmental officers.
At the start of the meeting, the Minister reviewed the welfare and livelihood schemes being implemented in the district. He went through the challenges faced at the field level and asked the officers to address them promptly. In addition, he emphasized the need for accountability and monitoring to achieve better outcomes.
To strengthen rural income, the ARDD department outlined plans to improve animal healthcare services. In addition, officials discussed organizing more veterinary camps and vaccination drives. The Minister also highlighted the importance of boosting dairy and livestock productivity so that farmers can earn sustainable income.
Meanwhile, the Fisheries department presented updates on scientific fish farming initiatives. They explained how modern aquaculture techniques and improved pond management can increase fish production. Furthermore, the Minister instructed officers to deliver subsidies and scheme benefits to eligible beneficiaries without delay.
In relation to SC Welfare schemes, the officials discussed financial assistance schemes and skill development initiatives. As a result, the Minister called upon the department to extend income-generating schemes to more Scheduled Caste families.
Finally, he emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination to hasten development activities. As a result, the officials committed to enhance transparency, monitoring, and on-time delivery of government benefits to the grassroots level.
The meeting ended on a positive note with specific directives to attain inclusive and sustainable rural development in the district.
