Workshop Inaugurated Under Skill Development Initiative

A two-day Journalism Training Workshop concluded successfully in Gomati district. The event aimed to improve the professional skills of working journalists. Moreover, it was held at the Panchayat Raj Training Institute in Udaipur.

The workshop was organized under the Chief Minister Skill Development Project. Additionally, the Department of Skill Development, Government of Tripura, conducted the program with support from the District Office of the Information & Cultural Affairs Department, Gomati.

The inaugural session began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Thereafter, District Magistrate Rinku Lather officially inaugurated the workshop. During his address, he highlighted the importance of ethical journalism, continuous learning, and professional development.

Journalists Receive Practical Training

The workshop focused on strengthening the reporting and digital media skills of young and aspiring journalists. As a result, a total of 53 journalists from across Gomati district actively participated in the first day’s sessions.

Participants learned the fundamentals of print and electronic journalism. In addition, experts provided practical training in news writing, feature writing, video editing, and digital media production. Furthermore, the interactive sessions gave participants valuable hands-on experience. Consequently, they developed a better understanding of modern newsroom practices.

Focus on Digital Journalism

On the second day, resource persons discussed modern reporting techniques and digital storytelling. They also explained the importance of fact-checking, media ethics, and responsible journalism.

Meanwhile, participants explored emerging trends in digital media. Furthermore, they learned how to verify information before publication. As a result, they became more familiar with professional reporting standards. Overall, the sessions prepared them to work confidently in today’s fast-changing media environment.

Certificate Distribution Ceremony

The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony. Finally, District Magistrate Rinku Lather presented certificates to all participants. He also congratulated the journalists for successfully completing the training program.

Officials said the initiative would strengthen journalists’ professional capabilities. Moreover, it would help them produce accurate, ethical, and high-quality news content. At the same time, the program encouraged participants to adopt new technologies and digital storytelling techniques.

The workshop received an enthusiastic response from young and emerging journalists across the district. Notably, participants remained actively engaged throughout the sessions. Therefore, organizers expressed confidence that similar training programs would further strengthen journalism in Gomati district.
