Chief Minister Lays Foundation Stone for New Market at Belonia
Laying the foundation for growth, cleanliness, and prosperity, the Hon’ble Chief Minister Manik Saha on 31 January 2026 laid the foundation stone for a new Vegetable and Fish Market at Vidyasagar Market in Belonia, South Tripura. Through this initiative, the government aims to strengthen urban infrastructure and improve facilities for traders and consumers.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the project in the presence of local representatives, district officials, traders, and residents. The ceremony highlighted the administration’s focus on planned development and better civic amenities.
Project Aims to Improve Hygiene and Infrastructure
The new Vegetable and Fish Market will address issues such as congestion, sanitation, and unorganised vending. The project will provide a clean, systematic, and hygienic trading space. Moreover, modern infrastructure will help improve food safety and public health standards.
Currently, traders face space shortages and drainage problems. Therefore, the new market will reduce these difficulties significantly. In addition, residents of Belonia and nearby areas will enjoy a more convenient shopping environment.
