The closing day of the Kalajhari Ter & Food Festival 2025 ended with enthusiasm and celebration as Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to the Best-Selling SHGs. These awards recognized the outstanding performance, delicious food items, and strong entrepreneurial spirit displayed by SHG Didis throughout the event. Moreover, the ceremony highlighted the growing importance of women-led micro-enterprises under TRLM.
Throughout the festival, visitors enjoyed a wide variety of traditional dishes and homemade delicacies prepared by different SHG groups. In addition, the creativity, hygiene, and warm hospitality offered by these women made their stalls crowd favourites. As a result, the event successfully showcased the potential of rural women in strengthening community-based entrepreneurship.
Best-Selling SHGs Awarded
This year, three SHGs stood out for their exceptional achievement:
🏆 1st Prize – Maa Kali SHG
🥈 2nd Prize – Maa Durga SHG
🥉 3rd Prize – Khakaham SHG
These groups demonstrated remarkable dedication and teamwork. Furthermore, they impressed visitors with authentic flavours, organised service, and cultural presentation. Their success reflects how SHGs continue to uplift rural livelihoods and promote traditional food culture in Tripura.
Meanwhile, the award ceremony also emphasized the core mission of the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM), which focuses on empowering women through skill development and economic opportunities. Therefore, the recognition given to these SHGs serves as motivation for many other women in the region.
Finally, as the Kalajhari Ter & Food Festival 2025 concluded, the appreciation ceremony became a proud moment for the entire Karbook Sub-Division. It celebrated not only food and culture but also the strength, confidence, and leadership of rural women.
