Khowai Police Organise Prayaas Awareness Programme at Singicherra School
The Khowai Police organised a Prayaas awareness programme at Sarat Chandra Higher Secondary School, Singicherra, on 28 January 2026. The initiative aimed to sensitise students and teachers on key social and safety issues while promoting responsible behaviour among young citizens.
Inspector Krishnadhan Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge of Khowai Police Station, led the programme. School authorities, police personnel, teachers, and a large number of students actively participated in the session.
Focus on Women’s Safety and Drug-Free Society
As the programme proceeded, police officials also discussed the significance of women safety and gender sensitivity. They were told about how women could protect themselves and legal options available to them. The speakers also reiterated the vision for a drug-free society. They preached against drug abuse to the students.
Awareness on Road Safety and Cyber Security
Moreover, the programme dealt with road safety. Officials taught students about traffic regulations, using helmets and walking safely on the road. They taught throw the onus of safe behaviour on roads and how this could be eliminate the possibility of accidents and save lives.
In addition the session involved cyber security and internet safe use. Cops informed students about cyber crimes, online fraud and misuse of social media. They also provided tips on safeguarding personal data and reporting online activities that appear suspicious.
Positive Response from Students
Students were eager to ask questions and engage with the presenters. Therefore the programme drew attention and built trust between the police and community. The Prayaas program is one of the many social outreach and youth engagement projects that Khowai Police have undertaken.
The awareness programme, in general, was a significant stride towards developing an aware, responsible and safe society in Tripura.
