Nepal election results 2026, Early results from the 2026 general elections in Nepal show that the newly formed Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is leading strongly in the country’s vote counting.

According to the early counting results from the voting stations across the country, the RSP is leading in several constituencies in the House of Representatives election. The party is leading in the election and has also managed to win one seat and is leading in 36 other constituencies where the vote counting is still in progress.

The party is led by Balendra Shah, a former rapper and the former mayor of Kathmandu city.

Other Major Parties Lag Behind | Nepal election results 2026

The Nepali Congress party is leading in five constituencies, based on the early counting results from the voting stations across the country.

The party of former Nepalese Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), is leading in three constituencies in the country’s vote counting.

The other political party, the Nepal Communist Party, is leading in one constituency in the country’s vote counting.

High Voter Turnout in Historic Election

Nepal recorded an estimated 60 percent voter turnout during Thursday’s election for the House of Representatives.

This election is considered significant because it is the first national election held after the violent Gen Z protests that forced the collapse of the coalition government led by K P Sharma Oli last year.

The protests triggered major political changes and pushed the country toward fresh elections.

RSP Wins Kathmandu-1 Seat

The Rastriya Swatantra Party has already claimed victory in the Kathmandu-1 constituency.

RSP candidate Ranju Darshana reportedly won the seat by a large margin. According to party officials, she secured more than 10,000 votes, nearly double the votes received by her closest rival.

Her main opponent, Prabal Thapa Chhetri from the Nepali Congress, finished behind in the early count.

However, the Election Commission of Nepal has not yet issued the official confirmation of the result.

Vote counting remains underway in several constituencies across Nepal. Election authorities expect clearer results to emerge as counting progresses.

Political analysts say the early trends suggest a significant shift in Nepal’s political landscape, especially with the strong performance of the newly established RSP.
