Silchar, Assam: Narendra Modi Silchar visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Silchar on Saturday. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed him warmly at the airport. Several senior officials and local leaders also joined the reception.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will launch development projects worth more than ₹23,000 crore for the Barak Valley region. These projects aim to improve infrastructure and boost economic growth.
The initiatives focus mainly on road connectivity, transport systems, healthcare, and public services. As a result, the projects will create new opportunities for employment and business in the region.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the Prime Minister’s visit shows the central government’s strong commitment to the development of Barak Valley. Moreover, he said the new projects will improve regional connectivity and support local industries.
Barak Valley includes the districts of Cachar, Karimganj, and Hailakandi. Therefore, these development initiatives will benefit thousands of residents across southern Assam.
Meanwhile, many people gathered in Silchar to welcome the Prime Minister. Security teams strengthened arrangements across the city to ensure a smooth visit.
Finally, the government expects these projects to accelerate development and improve the quality of life for people in Barak Valley.
