Successful Surgeries Conducted at Unakoti District Hospital
Kailashahar, September 8: Unakoti District Hospital in Kailashahar has achieved an important milestone after doctors successfully completed several ENT procedures during a specialised surgical camp.
The camp included five major surgeries and three minor procedures, according to a report by Tripura Times. ENT surgeon Dr. Arup Chakraborty supervised the programme.
Patients Receive Specialist Treatment
Patients from different parts of Unakoti district attended the camp. They came from areas including Kanchan Bari, Deorachara and Kailashahar.
Interestingly, the camp also treated a patient from Bangladesh. Doctors performed a major operation on the patient, identified as Bidhan Roy.
The surgical programme began at around 10 am and continued until about 4 pm. A team of ENT specialists supported the camp throughout the day.
Team of Doctors Conducts Surgeries
The medical team included Associate Professor Dr. Bidhan Das, TMCD Dr. Laxman Bhattacharya and IGM Hospital Medical Officer Dr. Riddhi Nayak. Other ENT doctors also took part in the programme.
The successful procedures highlight the importance of specialist medical camps at district-level hospitals. Such initiatives can help patients access specialised treatment without travelling to larger hospitals for every procedure.
Boost to Healthcare Services in Unakoti
For residents of Unakoti, access to specialist healthcare remains particularly important. A district hospital can reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for treatment.
The latest surgical camp also demonstrates the role that visiting specialists and coordinated medical teams can play in expanding healthcare services.
Meanwhile, the successful completion of the procedures has provided encouragement to patients and their families in the region.
With continued specialist support, similar surgical programmes could further strengthen healthcare services at Unakoti District Hospital and improve access to treatment for people in the district.
