Road Block at Silachari Road, A group of Karbook auto drivers blocked the Silachari Road via Karbook–Amarpur route on Monday morning around 9:00 AM. The protest took place near Nabajoy Para, close to the Petrol Pump. Traffic stopped for some time, and commuters faced inconvenience.
The drivers said they protested to demand immediate CNG facilities. They also asked the authorities to start the road construction from Ananda Bazar to Hospital Road. According to them, the delay has affected daily travel and transport services.
During the protest, Karbook DCM Anurag Debbarma and Karbook Block Secretary Bishal Debbarma reached the spot. They spoke with the drivers and discussed the issues. The officials assured the protesters that the construction work would begin within one week.
After the assurance, the drivers called off the blockade. Road Block at Silachari Road via Karbook–Amarpur Traffic movement slowly returned to normal.
Residents and commuters now expect the authorities to start the work soon and improve road conditions in the area.
