South Tripura Secures First Position in Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Campaign

South Tripura district has secured first position for the effective implementation of the Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Campaign. The district received this recognition on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026. The Social Welfare & Social Education Department, Government of Tripura, announced the achievement to honour the district’s strong efforts against child marriage.

This recognition highlights the commitment of the District Administration of South Tripura and various partner departments. Officials stated that the campaign has played an important role in spreading awareness about the harmful effects of child marriage. As a result, communities across the district have shown greater support for protecting the rights of young girls.

Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Campaign Promotes Child Protection

The Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat Campaign focuses on preventing child marriage and promoting the education and empowerment of girls. Through awareness programmes, community meetings, and school campaigns, officials encouraged families to support the education of girl children.
