Tripura’s Ranjan Debnath Receives National Teachers’ Award, CM Manik Saha Hails Achievement
Agartala, September 6, 2026: Tripura has achieved another milestone in school education. Ranjan Debnath has received the National Teachers’ Award 2026 for his contribution to education.
Debnath serves as the headmaster of PM SHRI Class XII Girls’ School in Sabroom. Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu presented the national honour at a Teachers’ Day programme in New Delhi.
As a result, the achievement has brought pride to Sabroom and Tripura.
CM Manik Saha Congratulates Debnath
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha congratulated Ranjan Debnath on receiving the award. He also praised Debnath’s dedication to teaching and school development.
According to the Chief Minister, the honour reflects the hard work of teachers across Tripura. Moreover, Saha described Debnath’s achievement as a proud moment for the state.
Sabroom School Makes Notable Progress
PM SHRI Class XII Girls’ School in Sabroom has a long history. The school was established in 1960.
Over the years, the institution has developed several modern facilities. These include smart classrooms and science laboratories.
In addition, the school has an Atal Tinkering Lab. Students can learn robotics and other practical skills there.
Furthermore, the institution provides vocational education and self-defence training. Students also have access to a library and sports facilities.
Strong Academic Results
The school has also maintained strong academic performance.
It recorded a 100 per cent pass rate in secondary and higher secondary examinations during the 2022–23 and 2023–24 sessions.
Similarly, the school achieved a 100 per cent secondary pass rate in 2024–25. However, its higher secondary pass percentage stood at 92 per cent that year.
Focus on Overall Development
Debnath’s work goes beyond regular classroom teaching. In particular, he has helped guide nearly 700 girl students at the school.
At the same time, he encourages students to participate in sports and cultural activities. Therefore, his approach focuses on both academic learning and personal development.
National Honour for Tripura
Ranjan Debnath was among the teachers selected for the National Teachers’ Award 2026.
