Pradyot Says Next Month Crucial for Tiprasa Accord Implementation
Agartala, September 6, 2026: Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarman has said the next month could be crucial for the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord.
Debbarman made the statement after a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha also attended the meeting.
Amit Shah Seeks Progress on Accord
According to Debbarman, Amit Shah asked the Tripura government to move forward with the implementation process.
Debbarman said the government could provide greater clarity on the accord within the next month. He described the period ahead as important for Tiprasa communities.
The Tipra Motha leader shared his views during a Facebook Live session following the Delhi meeting.
Land Rights Among Key Issues
Land rights featured prominently in the discussions, according to Debbarman.
The meeting also covered financial and administrative issues linked to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Debbarman said the delegation focused on issues that directly affect indigenous people. He stressed the need for concrete action rather than only political discussions.
Accord Remains a Major Issue
The Tiprasa Accord has remained an important political issue in Tripura since its signing in 2024.
The agreement focuses on several concerns raised by indigenous communities. These include land rights, political issues, economic development, identity, culture and language.
Debbarman has repeatedly called for effective implementation of the agreement. He said the interests of the people should remain the main priority.
Political Future Also Discussed
Debbarman also spoke about Tipra Motha’s political position.
He said the party would consider future political decisions based on the situation on the ground. He indicated that the party’s priorities would remain connected to the interests of the people.
He also stressed the importance of maintaining peace and harmony among different communities in Tripura.
Next Month Could Bring Clarity
The latest meeting has once again put the Tiprasa Accord at the centre of political discussion in Tripura.
The coming weeks could provide a clearer picture of the government’s next steps. People will now watch closely for concrete decisions on land rights and other provisions of the accord.
For Tiprasa communities, the focus will remain on whether the latest discussions lead to visible progress.
The next month could therefore become an important period for the future of the Tiprasa Accord and its implementation in Tripura.
