NASA Artemis Rocket Launch Target Moves to March After Successful Wet Dress Rehearsal

Florida:
NASA has completed a critical wet dress rehearsal for the Artemis II mission, marking a major milestone toward the next NASA Artemis rocket launch. The space agency successfully fueled the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, completed Orion spacecraft closeout operations, and safely drained the vehicle after the test.

The wet dress rehearsal simulated launch-day procedures and allowed engineers to identify technical issues ahead of flight. As a result, NASA will now target March as the earliest possible launch window for Artemis II.

Key Objectives Met Despite Technical Challenges

During the two-day test, engineers worked through several challenges while meeting many planned objectives. Importantly, teams fully loaded cryogenic propellant into the rocket’s core stage and interim cryogenic propulsion stage.

However, cold weather at Kennedy Space Center delayed tanking operations. Engineers needed additional time to bring several interfaces to acceptable temperatures before fueling could begin.

Liquid Hydrogen Leak Delays Countdown | NASA Artemis rocket launch

During propellant loading, teams detected a liquid hydrogen leak in an interface that routes fuel into the core stage. Consequently, engineers paused the countdown to troubleshoot the issue.

They stopped the propellant flow, warmed the interface to reseat seals, and adjusted fuel flow rates. Although teams resolved the issue enough to proceed, the leak rate later spiked during terminal countdown operations. Therefore, the ground launch sequencer automatically halted the countdown at about five minutes remaining.

Orion Closeout and Additional Technical Issues

After the tanking, a team of five members went to the launch pad to finish the closeout of the Orion spacecraft. However, a valve associated with the pressurization of the crew hatch needed retorquing, thus adding to the timeline.

Additionally, cold weather impacted some cameras and ground equipment. Although these problems did not cause a halt in the test, the team realized that they would need to be addressed on the day of the launch. Furthermore, audio communication dropouts recurred.

Launch Timeline Adjustment Impacts Crew Quarantine

Because NASA moved off a February launch window, the Artemis II astronauts will exit quarantine. They entered quarantine in Houston on January 21 and will reenter it about two weeks before the next targeted launch date.

The Artemis II crew includes Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen of the Canadian Space Agency.

Safety Remains Top Priority | NASA Artemis rocket launch

With March now under consideration, NASA teams will review test data in detail. They will mitigate all identified issues before announcing an official launch date.

Ultimately, NASA stressed that crew safety remains the highest priority. The Artemis II mission will mark the first crewed flight of the Artemis program around the Moon and a key step toward future lunar landings.

Bubagra Pradyot Bikram Manikya Flags Threats to ADC, Tribal Land, and Students’ Rights in Tripura

Bubagra Pradyot ADC issue

Agartala, Tripura:Bubagra Pradyot ADC issue
Bubagra Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma, the founder of Tipra Motha, has expressed grave concern about what he perceived as an increasing effort to undermine the constitutional safeguards for the tribal people in the state of Tripura.

During a Facebook Live speech, he stated that Tipra Motha would never be willing to give up its ideology, its principles, or its commitment to the Tiprasa people under any circumstances.

With the Foundation Day of the party set to take place on February 5, he called upon all leaders at all levels to conduct public programs in villages and rural areas. Through such programs, he said, people must be made aware of the grave challenges that land rights, the Autonomous District Council (ADC), and tribal education are facing.

Concerns Over ADC and Sixth Schedule Safeguards

According to Bubagra Pradyot, certain forces are actively trying to dilute the authority of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC). He recalled that tribal leaders fought for decades to establish the council under the Sixth Schedule to protect land, identity, and self-rule.

However, he warned that weakening the Sixth Schedule would directly damage tribal self-governance. Moreover, such steps could allow encroachment and commercial exploitation of ADC land.

Referring to recent developments in Bishramganj, he alleged illegal attempts to enter tribal areas. As a result, he announced that Tipra Motha would approach the court to challenge any unlawful activity.

“We will fight this battle legally and constitutionally,” he said.

Land Rights Remain a Central Issue | Bubagra Pradyot ADC issue

Bubagra Pradyot also expressed his reservations regarding the delay in giving the land rights to the tribal people. According to him, large interests may be targeting the ADC land for commercial purposes in the future.

Thus, he said that once the land is lost, it can never be regained. Although he accepted that people from different communities are residing in the ADC areas, he reiterated that the main purpose of the council is to protect the rights of the tribals.

Script Issue Linked to Students’ Future

Moving on to the script controversy, Bubagra Pradyot clarified that Tipra Motha does not have any objection to the Bengali language. Rather, the party demands academic alternatives for tribal students.

Currently, many students of Class 10 and Class 12 take their exams in Roman script. Therefore, he said that these students should be given question papers in English. Otherwise, there might be massive failure, and the future of the students will be at stake.

Reaction to Statements by Political Allies

Meanwhile, Bubagra Pradyot expressed pain over remarks allegedly made against Tipra Motha leaders by certain alliance partners. He described such language as unacceptable and damaging to coalition ethics.

At the same time, he reaffirmed his respect for the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister. In contrast, he criticised the current state-level political atmosphere and alleged that a few leaders continue to target Tipra Motha and the Tiprasa community.

Call for Unity Beyond Party Politics | Bubagra Pradyot ADC issue

Addressing the Tiprasa community directly, Bubagra Pradyot appealed to them to move beyond their political affiliations. He asked them to keep their focus on safeguarding their land rights and ensuring a bright future for their children.

While he again reaffirmed Tipra Motha’s commitment to peace, development, and democracy, he warned them not to test the patience of the tribal community.

Finally, he announced that he would personally visit the affected areas and take up legal action through constitutional means.

“Others may have power,” he concluded, “but we have the Constitution.”

Minor Girl Rescued After Swift Police Action

In a significant breakthrough, the Dharmanagar Police successfully rescued a minor girl who was abducted from Chandrapur, under the Dharmanagar subdivision. The girl is the daughter of Shri Subhash Sarma, a resident of Chandrapur, Dharmanagar, in North Tripura.

The matter has raised serious concerns about child trafficking, and the need for immediate action by the law enforcement and child protection agencies was called for.

The police responded immediately to the incident as soon as the girl went missing. The incident has shocked the family and the community of the girl.

Complaint Filed by Child Helpline North Tripura

The rescue mission picked up pace after Child Helpline North Tripura submitted an official complaint to the authorities about the missing minor. Based on the input, the Dharmanagar Police registered a case and conducted a thorough investigation.

The police gathered vital information, investigated possible trafficking cases, and coordinated efforts with authorities outside the state. This helped them track the movement of the minor outside Tripura, and the timely cooperation from other states was critical to the safe rescue of the child.

Rescue Operation in West Bengal

After conducting extensive research, the Dharmanagar Police were able to trace the minor girl to West Bengal. The police team acted quickly and rescued the minor from the location they had identified. This was a clear example of inter-state coordination and professional policing.

Additionally, the rescue mission followed all the relevant procedures in child protection and rescue. After completing all the required formalities, the police were able to rescue the minor and return her to Tripura. This rescue mission not only prevented the minor from being exploited further but also emphasized the need to act quickly in cases where trafficking is suspected.

Handed Over Through Child Welfare Committee

After her return, the authorities brought the minor before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) as per the legal procedure. The CWC then evaluated the condition of the minor before proceeding further.

Later, the CWC transferred the minor girl to her father, Shri Subhash Sarma, in a safe and legal manner. This ensured that the rights of the minor were given utmost importance.

Follow-Up and Counseling Support

Apart from the rescue efforts, Child Helpline North Tripura is also actively involved in the rehabilitation of the child. The authorities visit the home of the minor girl for follow-up and counseling purposes. The purpose of the visit is to help the child emotionally recover and feel safe again.

Moreover, the counseling process helps the child and her family members deal with the trauma. Continuous monitoring of the child helps prevent risks in the future and ensures that the child is in good mental health. The authorities believe that rehabilitation and emotional support are as important as rescue in the case of minors.

A Strong Message Against Child Trafficking | Minor Girl Rescued Dharmanagar

With prompt action, professional investigation, and continued follow-up, the Dharmanagar Police and Child Helpline North Tripura have shown their commitment to protecting children. The successful rescue operation has strengthened people’s faith in the efforts of the authorities and the importance of reporting missing cases of children without any delay.
