Karbook, Tripura: The Karbook Sub-Divisional Fisheries Department distributed fish fingerlings to 43 beneficiaries in Karbook Block. The department organized the programme to promote scientific fish farming and encourage self-reliance among local farmers.
Officials said they distributed around 1,000 fish fingerlings of different species during the event. As a result, beneficiaries can expand fish production and increase their income.
Dignitaries Attend the Distribution Programme
Karbook MDC Sujoy Uchoi attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Pranab Tripura, Chairman of Karbook Block, also joined the event. In addition, community leader Sanakya Mani Jamatia, social worker Pranab Shankar Tripura, officials from the Karbook Sub-Divisional Fisheries Department, and TTAADC Fisheries Department representatives participated in the programme.
Officials Highlight the Importance of Fish Farming
During the event, the guests encouraged farmers to adopt modern fish farming techniques. They said fish farming creates employment and strengthens the rural economy. Moreover, scientific methods can improve productivity and increase profits.
