Karbook Administration Prepares for Independence Day, Restricts Entry to Dumbur Waterfall
The Karbook Sub-Divisional Administration held a preparatory meeting on Monday at 2:50 PM. Officials met at the Karbook Sub-Divisional Conference Hall. They planned the 2026 Independence Day celebrations.
The administration reviewed the event schedule. Officials discussed security arrangements and assigned responsibilities to different departments. They also finalized other key preparations for August 15.
Department officials reviewed the 2025 Independence Day programmes. They suggested several new activities for the 2026 celebration. The administration also decided to honour journalists from the Karbook Sub-Division for the first time. This initiative will recognize their contribution to society.
Officials also discussed the tragic death of Donal Chakma at Dumbur Waterfall in Tirthamukh on July 26, 2025. They expressed concern over visitor safety. The administration decided to strengthen safety measures.
The administration has now declared the Dumbur Waterfall area a restricted zone. Visitors cannot enter the waterfall area. They also cannot organize picnics, swim, or visit the site. Officials urged everyone to follow the new rules. They warned that anyone who ignores the restrictions will take full responsibility for the consequences.
MLA Sanjay Manik Tripura attended the meeting. Karbook Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pradip Debbarma also joined the discussion. Karbook Block BDO Subhrajit Paul and officials from various government departments participated in the meeting.
The administration urged all departments to work together. Officials said teamwork will ensure a safe and successful Independence Day celebration. They also promised to improve public safety across the subdivision.
