IPFT ADC election meeting

IPFT ADC Election Meeting, As the ADC elections approach, political activities are gaining momentum across Tripura. Political parties are actively holding village meetings and public interactions to reach voters at the grassroots level.

Against this backdrop, the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) organised a discussion meeting on Tuesday at around 5:30 PM. The programme took place at Gubchan Para under West Manikya Dewan ADC Village in Karbook RD Block of Karbook Sub-Division.

During the meeting, IPFT leaders directly interacted with local residents and discussed key political issues. IPFT Karbook Division President Shri Bhagirath Reang attended the programme and addressed the gathering. Meanwhile, Shri Pranab Tripura, Vice Chairman of Karbook RD Block BAC and Vice President of the IPFT Central Committee, also remained present.

Importantly, the meeting witnessed a notable political development. As a result of the discussions, 14 families comprising 32 voters left other political parties and joined IPFT. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is observing Financial Literacy Week 2026 from February 9 to February 13 across India. This year, RBI has selected the theme “KYC – Your First Step to Safe Banking.” Through this initiative, RBI aims to strengthen financial awareness and promote secure banking habits among citizens.

The programme began with an inaugural session led by Abhishek Singh, IAS, in the presence of RBI officials and representatives from various banks. During the event, speakers explained the growing need for financial education. They stressed that informed customers can better protect themselves from banking fraud and digital risks.

Senior district officials conducted a school visit at Parakalak High School in Khowai District on 7 February 2026. The visit focused on strengthening child protection measures and promoting girls’ education.

The visit was led by the District Magistrate & Collector, Khowai. The team included the ADM (PP), Khowai, OSD (Education), Khowai, the District Child Protection Officer, Khowai, and representatives from Child in Need Institute.

Review of Balika Manch and CHESTA Records

During the visit, the District Magistrate examined all records related to Balika Manch and CHESTA. He reviewed attendance registers, activity records, and follow-up reports. The review helped assess the proper implementation of child protection programmes at the school.

Officials stressed the importance of accurate documentation. They advised school authorities to maintain updated records and conduct regular meetings.

Interaction with Students

During the course of verification, it was found that five girls had been absent for the past five months. To attend to this, it was proposed to make home visits for further inquiry.

Subsequently, the officials visited the two girls at their homes and interacted with their guardians. The guardians assured the authorities and the officials that they would not marry their daughters before the age of 18. The guardians were also adamant and committed to ensuring their daughters’ education was continuous.

Teliamura School Visit

During the visit, the officials interacted with the Headmaster and teaching staff. They discussed academic supervision, student safety, and counselling mechanisms. The officials also stressed that the teachers would have to act as mentors under Balika Manch and CHESTA. They urged teachers to deal sensitively and consistently with students.

The District Magistrate personally scrutinized all the registers and records maintained in regard to Balika Manch. He looked for attendance details, activity logs, and follow-up actions. He advised school authorities to keep updated records, adding that meetings should be held regularly. Clear documentation, he said, allows for monitoring and accountability.

Later on, the District Magistrate had an interactive session with the students.
